Steps to Apply

Apply for Fall 2024 Late Start, Spring 2025, or Fall 2025

Fall 2024 Late Start

ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½offers two late-start dates with condensed-semesters. Choose from the following:

  • Classes Start September 23 – 12-week Subterm
  • Classes Start October 19 – 8-week Subterm

During these terms, a reduced schedule of core courses is available. Before applying, we encourage you to Choose the term “Fall 2024 – Late Start- 12 weeks†or “Fall 2024- Second Half – 8 Weeks” to see what is available.

Spring 2025

Our Spring Semester starts January 13.

Fall 2025

Our Fall 2025 Semester starts August 25, 2025.

Please Note:
  • The application process takes about 15 minutes to complete and we suggest you use a desktop computer and not a mobile device.

Keep in Mind

We’re offering Free College to recent qualified High School grads.

Gather these things for your application process:

Current High School Seniors

A copy of your current high school transcripts.

All Other Applicants

  1. A copy of your high school transcript, diploma, HiSET or GED, or homeschool diploma.

    Exemptions:
    If you have an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree:
    • You do not need to provide proof of high school graduation
    • You must have your official transcript(s) sent from your previous college(s)
  2. Additional Information (please send any applicable to you)
    • Previously taken SAT/ACT scores
    • Previously taken Accuplacer scores
    • Previous English course taken at another college/university
    • AP/IB scores
    • TOEFL/IELTS
    • Hi-Set/GED scores
    • Final high school transcript with GPA listed

A Note About Official College Transcripts

Official college transcripts must be sent directly to ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½from each institution you attended.

We will review transcripts and apply any qualifying credits.

A Note About Immunizations

You will need to submit proof of your Diphtheria/Tetanus, Measles, Mumps and Rubella immunizations before you attend any classes or activities at SMCC. To learn more, visit our Immunizations webpage.

Apply for Financial Aid

Once you have completed your application, we highly encourage you to apply for financial aid which may be available to you as a part-time or full-time student. Grants–which do not have to be paid back–cover tuition and fees for nearly 50% of Maine Community College students. To apply for financial aid, please fill out a FAFSA online by
